Lion’s Mane

One of our all-time favorites! The Lion’s mane mushroom! Also called “The smart mushroom” or “The priest of the mountains”. In Japan, this mushroom has been used for centuries for its purported mental support and restorative effects. A truly special sight when you meet him in the woods, hanging from a tree stump.

But what makes Lion’s mane so special? Well, the ericenones and erinacins (alkaloids present in Lion’s mane) ensure that the body stimulates the production of the body’s own substance NGF. NGF, on its turn, stands for nerve growth factor. This NGF is required for the growth of certain neurons in our brain. It also plays a role in myelination. A process that provides signal transmission through the nerves.

Lion’s Mane Capsules from Foodsporen:

The Foodsporen Lion’s mane capsules are, like all products from Foodsporen, made from the fruit bodies of this special mushroom. Foodsporen doest not use the mycelium that is grown on grain. In such way, Foodsporen is able to offer you a fair, powerful and pure product. In addition, all extracts from Foodsporen, including the Foodsporen Lion’s mane capsules, are standardized to no less than 30% polysaccharides!

Foodsporen only uses the fruiting bodies for each of its products. The products do not contain fillers, or mycelium on grain. The Lion’s Mane capsules have a high concentration ratio of 8:1.
